While our membership thrives on growing great grapes and making superb wines, we are happiest when we are sharing our wines and stories with friends new and old. There is always something going on here in Wine Country – a festival, vineyard tour, winemaker dinner, special tasting, barn dance, grape stomping contest, live theatre…you name it. The following is a calendar of events held by member wineries. But check back often, as this calendar is constantly being updated!

 

 

July 4 various member wineries Stars, Stripes and Syrah
A Wine Passport weekend with the Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country wineries. Visit the Association's website for more details.
Jule 5 Oreana Winery 5th Anniversary Celebration
Celebrating our first five memorable years with a sundown wine party featuring a totally remodeled tasting room and lounge and all the new summer wine releases. Live music by Spencer The Gardner and Tommy & The High Pilots and the Burger Bus will be slingin’ gourmet burgers. As darkness falls, Oreana continues the “Outdoor Movie Night” series with a free screening of the original 1973 “JAWS” on a big screen in the parking lot. Guests are encouraged to bring their own seating.
July 8 Tercero Tasting with the Winemaker
Head over to the Los Olivos Café for a tasting with winemaker/owner Larry Schaeffer who will present 5 of his Tercero wines, all complemented by hors d’oeuvres from Chef Nat Ely. From 5-6pm

 Pass the Cheese Please; So This is How the French Do It.
 The second of our Interactive Educational Exhibits explores the world of cheese and wine. Soft, hard, subtle or pungent, cheese is the perfect accompaniment to many of the world's great wines. Join us and our cheese educator, Melissa Schilling of Praise Cheese, as we sample a selection of local and imported cheese. Together we will learn how to match up different cheese with our favorite bottling. 6-8pm At The Bench in Los Olivos
July 18 Foley Estates Sunset Picnic in the Vineyard
Be a part of an exclusive wine country experience as you take in a Santa Rita Hills sunset among the vines with a gourmet picnic dinner, accompanied by a view at 1,000 feet above sea level and paired with Foley wines. As you complete your dinner, meander through the vineyard with your favorite glass of wine and be the first to participate in our inaugural Adopt-A-Vine program. 6-9pm.
July 18 - 19 Ken Brown Wines Ken Brown Wines Open House
Come taste with Ken and Deborah and learn about the vineyards of Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley! 11-4
July 18 Palmina Dolcetto & Pizza Party
The legendary grilled pizzas are back - See how many different versions Steve and crew can come up with this year! A great way to introduce the perfect summer red wine; Dolcetto. A casual and fun (not to mention delicious) way to get together with friends; pizza, wine, laughter.
August 8 Buttonwood Farm All Buttonwood Farm Dinner
 In 1968 Betty Williams came to beautiful Buttonwood Farm with the intention of creating a life that found expression through a connection with the land. This dinner honors Betty's vision as well as her dedication to produce and sustain a living from the land. In doing so she has made a positive difference in the community and served as an inspiration to us all.
Join the Buttonwood "family" for a convivial experience celebrating the bounty of Buttonwood Farm. This twilight dinner served in the vineyard will feature farm-raised pork and lamb, goat cheese, farm-grown vegetables, our famous peaches and award-winning Buttonwood wines.
August 15 Palmina La Stagione di Estate Wine Dinner
Limited to just 30 guests, the dinner will focus on the fresh produce and foods of the summer season, and will be set among the barrels in the winery. A five-course Italian-inspired meal, all paired with Palmina wines, will be created and prepared for you by Steve and Chrystal Clifton (with a little help from their friends!)

Nights at SBMA
Now in its sixth year, Nights continues to inspire through time-based art, performance, and new media. These unique events offer a cultural cocktail of art, music, specialty martinis, wine and outrageous one-night-only interactive happenings in the Museum’s galleries. August 21 Byron Winery Futures Dinner
We've planned a very special event to commemorate a very special occasion. Winemaker Jonathan Nagy has been diligently working on a few new Byron Wines. You'll be amoung the first to taste these small-lot bottling of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the extraordinary 2008 vintage. Come enjoy the future of Byron. From 6:30 – 9:30pm

September 19 Byron Sustainability is the Future - how we're farming for tomorrow
What we do to help the enviroment while growing the best vines possible. This event will be educational and fun. And yes, there will be food and wine. (lunch included). 11am – 2pm

September 26 Gainey Vineyard Crush Party
Join us for our most popular event – a lively celebration of the Art of Winemaking! Enjoy a afternoon of grape-picking in the vineyard, cooking demonstrations, wine aroma demonstration, special barrel-tastings, barrel-building demonstration, the infamous BAREFOOT GRAPE STOMP, hay-rides through the vineyard, award winning Gainey wines, a souvenir wine glass, and our special Tri-Tip and Chicken Santa Ynez style Barbecue. We’ll also have a live band and dancing. Very Special Case Discounts will be offered.
October 10 all member wineries Celebration of Harvest
This annual celebration is held each October, when we're in the thick of the winegrape harvest and winery staff take a needed break to showcase their latest wines, many newly bottled! Return to this website for details as they come available.
