Winemaker: Anna and David deLaski Case Production: 720 Email
In 2012, Anna and David deLaski started Solminer to fulfill a dream - to create well-balanced California wine from their Los Olivos vineyard and share their love for Austrian varietals. Anna and David are real people making real wine. They don't have a corporate marketing strategy that drives decision making. They farm, ferment, and package wines based on what they like and who they are. They stake their personal beliefs of honesty and quality on every bottle they produce. Anna comes from Austria near the Wachau wine region and David spent most of his life in California. Their union created a unique Cal-Austrian connection that inspires Solminer to focus on delivering amazing California wines featuring Austrian varietals such as riesling, grüner veltliner, and blaufränkisch along with their estate grown syrah. The wines are produced locally at the Palmina winery with the help of veteran winemaker, Steve Clifton.
This team takes great care in the vineyard and the wine making process considering everything that goes (and doesn't go0 into the soils, barrels, and bottles. They believe great wine is allowed to happen from well-grown grapes so as little is added to the process as possible. All Solminer fruit is farmed organically or sustainable and picked for optimum PH and balance for food friendly wines. The wines are made with minimal intervention utilizing the grapes' native yeasts. Small lots and unique varietals are the main focus. Each Solminer wine is distinctively labeled with unique artwork to convey the passion towards what went into every bottle.
