Vineyard Managers

Bud break, Huber Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills, photograph by Karen SteinwachsManaging a vineyard is no easy task. The way the vines are planted, nurtured, watered, pruned, weeded and harvested affects the quality of the grapes for years to come. Add to that the challenges of ground covers, nutrient enhancements, pest abatement, and scheduling crews to harvest grape crops that all seem to ripen at the same time.

Fortunately there are professional vineyard management companies that can help - either as advisors or to manage the entire vineyard. The Vintners' Association includes several vineyard management members who combine years of experience with the latest in viticultural techniques.
