invite you to look Inside Io. Crafted by the talented winemaking
staff at the Byron Winery, Io salutes the pioneering legacy of Santa
Barbara County. Inspired by his admiration for Rhone Style wines
Io was introduced by Byron’s former winemaker Ken Brown. We
are now featuring three wines under the Io label, Io classic, Ryan
Road Syrah and an Upper Bench Syrah.

Io's dark fruit character is reminiscent
of the great Northern Rhone red wines, but its harmonious
marriage of several varieties reflects the artful blending
of the Southern Rhone. Flavors are ripe and well-focused with
hints of dark cherry and earthiness framed by a firm structure
and smooth, mature tannins. Plush and supple, the texture
carries through to a long, velvety finish -- a sign of even
greater complexities to come with additional bottle age.
