Tensley is a family owned winery specializing in vineyard-designated Syrah. Described as a “top notch winemaker” by Robert Parker, Joey Tensley’s technique is hands-on and lets the vineyard speak for itself. Lea Wines, made by Jennifer Tensley, produces small lots of Syrah Rosé, “super,” (Wine Advocate) and single-vineyard Pinot Noir. Established in 1998, the first release of Tensley totaled just 100 cases. In 2006, our production reached 3,300 cases and included seven single-vineyard Syrahs, the most in Santa Barbara County. Though we've grown in size, our philosophy has never changed - source the best fruit possible and let the vineyard speak for itself. The Tensley Tasting Room is located in the scenic town of Los Olivos in the heart of Santa Barbara County wine country. Truly a family owned and operated winery, you will likely find either Joey or Jennifer Tensley working behind the tasting bar on any given weekend. We look forward to seeing you soon.
