Toretti Family Vineyard

Overlooking the lush Santa Maria Valley atop the bluff sits Toretti Family Vineyard. This ultra boutique vineyard is located in Santa Barbara County on five acres. Robert Torres, founder and local trailblazer turned from restaurateur to harvester planting premium Pinot Noir in 2000 on the family’s ten acre ranch. Caymus Vineyards, the prestigious Napa winery immediately picked up the first yield, a real honor and testament to the quality of the valley’s grapes. After several harvests the Torres family celebrated their first crush under their own label.

Toretti Family Vineyard blends Robert’s wife Marlene’s maiden name, Maretti with the surname Torres. The Maretti family is one of many Swiss families that left their European roots to settle on the Central Coast in the early 1900’s from Someo, Switzerland in the Canton of Ticino. This tiny town practiced a traditional lifestyle of homegrown produce, fresh herbs and cheeses served as an everyday affair in the outdoor stone grotto with a bottle of table wine.

The Torres and Maretti family carry on the tradition of family gathering together in groups small and large celebrating the little moments along with the big. Toretti Family Vineyard is family owned and operated and turns out 950 cases a year of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay and several other varietals procured from various locally owned vineyards.
